How does the Gibbs reflective cycle work?
Gibbs' reflective cycle has six stages: a description of what happened, your feelings, an evaluation of what went well and badly, an analysis linking the experience to theory, a conclusion about what you learned, and an action plan for next time. It is widely used in nursing, education and social work.
Reflections are personal, so use the model as a guide, as our responsible use policy explains. For other written work on your placement, report writing help can also support you.
